A Family Reunion Unlike Any Other

Each day many of the Passengers onboard our LUV jets are flying to meet family and friends, but it’s not every day that someone boards our flight to meet their family for the first time.

Joe DiNocco has always known he was adopted, but was only recently able to locate his family in Providence.  I learned of Joe’s story when his daughter, Rhonda Correll, sent an e-mail to Customer Relations advising us that her 67-year-old father, who now lives in Ft. Lauderdale, found the family he’s been searching for.

Upon learning of his story, with the direction of my fellow Co-Hearts, I reached out to our Communications Department, and secured a ticket for Joe to fly from Ft. Lauderdale to Providence to reconnect with the family he thought he never knew.  Oddly enough, Joe found that he had worked with his brother years before when he lived in Providence, but he never knew they were brothers.

As you'll see in the video, Joe was finally reunited with the siblings he never knew he had.  Stories like this one make me thankful for the family I have—including my wonderful Southwest Family who go above and beyond to make things like this possible.
