My Southwest story started on May 25, 2007, when I joined the Southwest Airlines Distribution Services Team. For the past seven years, I’ve interacted regularly with folks from a variety of Departments, including the Communication and Outreach Team who leads the publication of the Southwest Airlines One Report, our Company's annual comprehensive report on our triple bottom line of Performance, People, and Planet.
My One Report story started in Dec. 2011, when I had my first opportunity to be a One Report model! One day as I was walking out of the Communications Department, I ran into Trent Duran, who works on the Visual Communications Team. Normally Trent and I talk football, but on this particular day he asked if I was interested in modeling for the 2012 One Report. When he told me the photo shoot would be held in Denver on one of our new Boeing 737-800 airplanes, of course I said yes!
Participating in the 2012 One Report shoot was such a positive experience! I enjoyed being a part of telling the Southwest story for our Customers and Employees through our One Report. When I was asked to be a model again for the 2013 One Report—this time with my wife and daughter in the photo—I didn’t even think twice about it!
At Southwest, we believe in connecting People to what’s important in their lives, and our One Report is the story about how we do that. I’m fortunate to work for a Company who has connected me to so many important things in my life—my family, new opportunities and experiences, and a wonderful career. For now, I'll stick to my home across from the Love Field runway—and not as a model on the real runway!
My photo (I’m third in line) from the 2012 One Report.
I love this picture of me and my daughter and I am proud that it was chosen for the cover of the 2013 One Report.
