MLK Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. inspired countless hearts and minds with his moving “I Have a Dream” speech in 1963. Today, Southwest Airlines works hard to make dreams come true through our community partnerships benefitting organizations across the country.   In honor of Dr. King’s legacy and the dreams we share, here are a few of the comments we’ve received from our Community Partners about how Southwest Airlines helps make their dreams come true. “Through the support of Southwest Airlines, CHCI is able to continue its mission of developing the next generation of Latino leaders.” -Gretchen Class, Director of Development, Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute  “Southwest Airlines has enabled our organization to increase our giving of bags of fresh produce to senior citizens during the holidays by 50 percent.” -Diana Gregory, President and CEO, Diana Gregory Outreach Services/Gregory's Fresh Market  “Our partnership with Southwest has enabled us to introduce our highly-motivated, low-income students to schools and colleges across the country.” -Sarah Cassidy, Associate Director of Development, New Jersey SEEDS “SWA's reputation as a leader in corporate social responsibility and the fact that it has partnered with PCI for more than a decade contributes to the strong reputation PCI has among donors, the government, and corporations.” -Uli Imhoff Heine, Director of Development, Project Concern International  “Southwest Airlines has consistently been a strong community partner supporting our efforts in advancing diversity, providing technical assistance to underserved communities, advocating on behalf of a growing Asian Pacific Islander constituency and growing our small business community.” -Ashley Kaihara, Operations and Projects Manager, Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce “Southwest has made a tremendous impact in assisting us with the transportation needs of TMCF.  The partnership has extended the opportunity for us to provide more students a chance at success through leadership training and workforce preparation during our annual conference.” -George Spencer, National Director of Sponsorships and Business Thurgood Marshall College Fund “The Young Entrepreneurs Academy and our partnership with Southwest Airlines has helped students all across the country create over 1,300 small businesses, many of which continue on today, have led to new job creation, and have restored belief in the American Dream.” -Gayle Jagel, Founder and CEO, The Young Entrepreneurs Academy, Inc.
