logo.jpgFor the past ten years, Southwest has helped hundreds of students reach their dreams with higher education.  Those dreams can be difficult to reach when students don’t have access to the travel needed to stay connected with family.  For many Latino students, the inability to stay connected to family while attending a college far from home can make the difference between graduating and dropping out of school, and it is often cited as the number one reason why they do not complete their secondary education.  That’s why we’re excited to again offer this award to Latino students working so hard toward their dreams. The "Dandole Alas a Tu Exito/Giving Flight to Your Success" travel award program is geared toward college students with economic need who attend a school far from home.  Through this program Southwest Airlines, together with Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), is helping Hispanic students pursue higher education. Applications for the ¡Lánzate! Travel Award program will be accepted online at www.hacu.net through May 15, 2014.  Each applicant must submit an essay describing their inspiration to pursue a college degree.  Each student selected will be eligible for up to four tickets for use by the student and/or a family member traveling to/from the student’s college.  To view the criteria for the 2014 award program, please visit: SWAmedia.
