Pre Boads and bulk head seats

PRE BOARDING I had spoke to customer service today and they tell me I am the only Business select purchaser that has complained about the pre boarders that take all the balk head seats. I even told them that on other airlines that these are premium seats that other airlines sell for a additional fee. There response was it is open seating. I told them they can make any rules they want. And if it was in fact open seating why do the airline employees ask for certain seats to be saved. I offered the option of boarding A 1 through 15 than boarding the pre boards. . We all know how abused pre boarding has become .  I Just saying if you are paying the premium price you should get a chance at the bulk head seating. I hear a lot of business select folks in line talking about this. So please take time and make a statement on the record to Southwest Customer Service center. Or it will never change. Thanks for reading your concerned traveling Freind.

The Air Carrier Access Ac requires SWA to allow preboards, and it has to be before others board.

SWA cannot ask what their condition is to need preboarding, so people just take advantage.

What SWA refuses to do is not allow more than one escort to go with them, so the entire family of 12 gets to go with them.

I’m 60 years old, 6’7” and have chronic pain in my ankles to the point I wear medically prescribed braces on my legs. I have every right and need to sit in a bulkhead seat compared to some “frequent” flier that feels he’s entitled.

Agreed!!  I fly weekly and love SWA, but the blatant abuse of the preboard system is frustrating.  Recently I was A-4 and got on board to find a "disabled" passenger saving rows 1-8.  The worse part was the flight attendants told us business travelers to just go to row 9 and be seated.  I was super annoyed.  When the plane arrived the "disabled" man sprinted off the plane with his large family.  Grrr.

Forgive me for being skeptical... but a single passenger was saving 48 seats? How is that even possible? That's 1/3rd of the plane. Being saved by one person. Seems... impossible.

Perhaps you're exaggerating.

Prehaps you should have been on the flight and scene the jackets coats and personal effects scattered on the seats.

I have. And I have moved the item and taken a seat. And when the person complained the FA wouldn’t get involved. They all see the abuse and when push comes to shove, they won’t get involved and the person with their butt in the seat will win.

Until, of course, the person whose jacket you move decides to use physical force to stop you, and you are both removed from the flight.

Southwest allows seat saving. What they are doing is not wrong, according to Southwest.

Because of the Southwest "non-policy," the seat saver is every bit as "correct" in their position as the person trying to take their seat. Neither one is more correct than the other, per Southwest's "rules." Apply whatever moral beliefs you have to this situation but that doesn't mean a thing since Southwest ALLOWS SEAT SAVING.

Southwest will be liable when the eventual physical altercation happens. And it will.

I’m not getting tossed if someone assaults me on a WN plane. And if I do, WN will have one hell of a lawsuit and Pr disaster in their hands.  As long as they continue to tell people to take any empty seat, they are implying seat saving is not allowed.
