Hi. This is a first time flying for our 2 children ages 10, 12. do i do early bird check in to garuantee a kid will be able to sit by the parent? All 4 of us are going. just want to make sure the kids dont freak out on plane. Thanks for any advice thats given

To give you the best chance to all sit together, yes, you should probably purchase EarlyBird since your kids are too old to family board. If you don't, and get later boarding positions, Southwest Passengers are generally understanding and you could probably get a couple to move seats so at least each of your kids can sit next to a parent.
Since this is the first time your kids are flying, depending on the length, they can get antsy. Especially since Southwest now offers more free inflight entertainment, download the app ahead of time so you can watch tv, movies, etc. Have a great trip!
