Did you purchase in the last 24 hrs? If you did, you can cancel for a full refund back to your credit card.   If you purchased more than 24 hrs ago and it was a Wana Get Away fare the answer is no.  If the person is not going to go you need to cancel the ticket and that person who's name is on the ticket is going to have a credit to use one year from the purchase date.

Anytime fares and Business select fares are refundable

Hello

Southwest tickets are not transferable.

As @franktravel said if you booked less than 24 hour a go you can cancel request a refund if you paid with a credit card and re book but you will have to pay the fare at the time of booking the new ticket

if it has been more than the 24 hours that person who can't go will have a credit for future travel and you would need to buy a new ticket for the other person if the original ticket was points the points will go back to the account which bought the ticket and the security fee can be refunded if you had not changed your ticket previously which then you can rebook for the new person.

If you booked an anytime or business select fare it is refundable

hope this helps

While tickets are not transferrable, you can cancel the ticket and - depending on the type of fare - either hold the funds for that person for later use or request a refund (if you booked Anytime or Business Select).  You technically don't lose your money as long as that person needs to take a flight over the next year from the original purchase date.

You will have to buy another ticket for the new person who is going.

Transferring a flight ticket to someone else is different for each airline. Most big airlines in the USA don't let you do this. However, some smaller or cheaper airlines in other countries might let you transfer your ticket for a small fee. If you have a ticket for a long trip, usually you can't transfer it. To try and transfer your ticket, look at the rules on your ticket or ask the airline. If you can't transfer it, you might have to cancel it and book a new one. If you need help, you can call a travel agent to guide you through the process.

Southwest does not let you transfer your ticket to someone else.
