I am flying into Atlanta from BWI going to Punta Cana. Will I have to go to the International terminal to catch my connecting flight?

No
You fly in and out concourse C in ATL. Very easy to check gate info. All you need to do is a flight status update for both flights on the day before or the day of and that will tell you what gates you will fly in and out of.
