I'm just wandering, what is the real reason why Southwest will no longer fly to Mexico City? My family and I go at least twice a year and it's so convenient living close to Hobby. So, what's the deal?

You're not likely to get an official answer to your question as airlines don't typically say why they end routes.
My guess: it's a combination of not enough passengers and/or tickets not selling for a high enough price to generate the profit needed to continue the city.
Southwest isn't the only airline that has had trouble at Mexico City. Alaska pulled out, and United reduced frequencies.. There may have been others.
