We used to be able to travel from AUS to CUN non stop. Now we have to go through DEN, ATL or HOU and the travel time increased from about 3 hrs to 8 hours. This is such a bummer. Has anyone else noticed this?

I haven't noticed that route, specifically. But I know that it doesn't mean it's lost forever. RNO to OAK is a good example. They got rid of that route a couple years ago, but it came back this year.
Sorry about the increased travel time though. That stinks.

If you haven't already, call and ask a customer service agent to help you find the shortest route. He or She may be able to find one that saves time even though it flys in a direction you may not think of looking. An agent helped me with this a few years ago when a route was changed that I was taking frequently. At least it will be on the SWA radar that folks like you need the route back. 🙂 Good luck.
