I'm wanting to book a flight with a companion pass. However the booklet I received said I can go to Southwest.com to book my flight and then add the companion pass after that. My question is (since I travel for work and am needing to book my travel throught their system - called Concur), can i book my flight through that system and after my flight shows up in my southwest acct dashboard, then still add my companion pass? Or am I always required to purchase the first paid flight through the southwest.com website?

Yes. You can add the companion at anytime after you "The Companion pass holder" has made a reservation. The easy way is when your reservation is listed in your upcoming flights. You can also call Southwest Airlines customer service and they can add a Companion for you.
Good Luck!
