Foreign Currency does not count towards RR points.?

According to the Credit Card fine print, one of the transaction types ineligible towards earning points is "Foreign Currency". Like some clarification on what that means. Does that mean that if I buy a product online from Europe/Canada or while abroad it does not count towards RR points ?. For example if I'm in Canada using my card there, the transaction would be in Canadian dollars and then it would convert to USD on my card statement.  So the question is if that type of transaction counts towards RR points or not ?......Harry

"Types of transactions won’t count as a purchase and won’t earn points: balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable."

I read "foreign currency" as a cash like transaction.  So any foreign charge for goods or services would count.
