Rapid Rewards Enrollment

I purchased a ticket from Southwest for the first time yesterday & in that process am trying to enroll in Rapid Rewards. When I click on create my account & enter all the information it asks for I get a message tells me I already have an account & that if I'm having trouble to click on "log-in help" which I do. When I enter the information it asks for there (first name, last name & e-mail address) it says I don't have an account. What gives?? Am I am I NOT enrolled??? Very frustrating. I called the 800 number & sat on hold for over 25 minutes. I couldn't wait any more so I hung up feeling very disapointed in my first experience with this company.
