Whether you have flown on one of our Southwest planes this month, or just happened to have picked up a copy of the August issue of Spirit, Southwest’s inflight magazine, chances are you by now have seen the beautiful 20-page special section featuring Tampa.

As the city gears up for the 2012 Republican National Convention next week (August 27-30), all eyes will be on Tampa, which is taking every opportunity to showcase the beautiful Florida bay area.  An expected 50,000 visitors will be flocking to Tampa Bay and taking advantage of the attractions, restaurants, beaches, shopping, and fun that the area has to offer.

Those traveling to TPA on Southwest for the convention can read all about the area in Spirit and see the picturesque illustrations before they arrive.  An unveiling of the magazine spread was hosted by Tampa Bay & Company at TPA.  President and CEO of Tampa Bay & Company, Kelly Miller, and Chairman of the Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners, Ken Hagan, spoke to a large crowd, including  leaders from key Tampa Bay economic development organizations and community partners about how they're working together to promote Tampa Bay to the world leading up to, during, and after the convention.
