Saturday, June 29, 2013, was a day that changed my life. I was flying from Houston, Texas, to Panama City, Florida, for our annual family vacation. The flight had lots of turbulence and the seat belt light was on most of the time. When it turned off, my boyfriend, Harrison, went to the front of the plane to use the restroom. IMG_1726Within a minute, I hear my name being called over the intercom. I didn’t react, assuming they were calling someone with the same name. My name was called a few more times so I finally stood up, and the Flight Attendant asked me to come to the front of the plane. I couldn’t help but assume it was to play some sort of game. I was embarrassed, but there was no way I could decline. IMG_1727When I got to the front, Harrison was holding a bouquet of flowers and “When A Man Loves A Woman” was playing through the speakers. Harrison handed me the flowers and held a ring box.  As he proposed, Customers in the front rows were tossing rose petals. The Flight Attendant then walked around with our video camera asking Customers for marriage advice. As we exited the plane, the Pilot told us he had to detour over the Gulf in order to avoid turbulence and make the moment possible.  We want to thank Southwest Airlines for their enthusiasm! A special thank you to Southwest CEO Gary Kelly (who was on board our flight and one of the first person to congratulate us) along with the Pilots and rest of the Flight Crew, for making the moment so unforgettable! Three years, one wedding, and one baby later, this is still such a beautiful memory we cherish. WE LUV SOUTHWEST AIRLINES! IMG_1723
