The Southwest Community Team is pleased to announce that we’ve got two more Community Members joining our Community Champions Program. If you’ve ever asked a question in the Community, you’ve probably interacted with one of our Champions. These folks are knowledgeable, passionate, and experienced travel enthusiasts who thrive on answering questions, sharing experiences, and fostering connections among our valued Community Members.
Having traveled solo by air dozens, if not hundreds, of times in my life, the routine of flying can often be lonely and monotonous. During the vast majority of my solo flights I've probably never said a word to anyone except airline personnel. However, that all changed one flight roughly 10 years ago when I strayed from my norm.
I love when the temperature starts to drop. For me it means pumpkin spice everything, football, and my favorite sweatshirt. However, if you live in a cold weather region, then you may not share my same enthusiasm. That said, no matter where you call home, “Old Man Winter” may stop in for an unexpected visit and it is time to get prepared.
Sharing our Heart is a big part of Southwest Airlines and for years, we’ve been dedicated to living responsibly and respecting our resources. As you might have seen on Lifetime last night, we had the unique opportunity to celebrate this dedication by being featured in the fan-favorite, Unconventional Materials episode of Project Runway All Stars!

It is with heavy hearts that we share with you that our Founder, Inspiration, Chairman Emeritus, and Friend Herb Kelleher has passed away this morning at the age of 87. Herb is survived by his wife, Joan, three of their four children, many cherished grandchildren, and, of course, his pride and joy, the Employees of Southwest Airlines.
