I love when the temperature starts to drop. For me it means pumpkin spice everything, football, and my favorite sweatshirt. However, if you live in a cold weather region, then you may not share my same enthusiasm. That said, no matter where you call home, “Old Man Winter” may stop in for an unexpected visit and it is time to get prepared.

While we’re starting to nail down our Halloween costumes, it’s never too soon to start thinking about those spring vacations you deserve. Twelve flights in 13 weeks sounds like a completely reasonable amount of trips to many of our most frequent-flying Customers and Crew, but as a first-time expecting mom I found myself losing the internal willpower battle to make it through my packed few weeks on the move—all while fighting the symptoms that often come with the first signs of pregnancy. [Insert green, nausea face emoji!].
Fortunately, I have a great network of Coworkers at Southwest that happen to also be moms, so I began reaching out to them in confidence begging for them to bestow their wisdom on me. Read more to see what I learned.
With kids across the country heading back to school, it may be tough to start thinking about Spring Break; although, we know you’re already planning ahead. Family travel is not for the faint of heart. Knowing the resources that are available to you at the airport—from mother’s rooms to pods to family restrooms—can help reduce some stress, so we’ve compiled family resources for every location Southwest serves.
Ah, summertime. Three things are guaranteed each summer: one, HEAT! Two, full flights. And three, Network Planning publishes the January schedule. That happened this morning, extending our schedule out through March 6, 2019. Some interesting changes to our schedule always await as we move from the holiday season schedule into the heart of winter of the new year, and this one’s no exception. Let’s discuss!
Our fourth annual Southwest Summer Camp is underway, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome over 160 campers (who are dependents of Southwest Employees) to our Headquarters this week! Additionally, we are hosting a few students from GenHERation and a few students whose nationally-recognized science experiment was sent to space. Most of these campers aren’t of legal voting age yet, but they just might be future Southwest Employees. In fact, that’s kind of the point.
Whether you’ve been the parent or the innocent bystander, you’ve probably encountered a child at some point during your airline travels. Oftentimes, traveling children can become impatient, frustrated, or confused during the travel process. Southwest will soon say goodbye to our 737-300 fleet and welcome the new 737 MAX with open arms. As we look to the future, it's important to remember the many milestones the -300s have helped our Company reach.
A better airport experience for air travelers is a priority for both Southwest Airlines and the TSA. As such, we worked with our friends at the TSA to create the following post with information that can help make your summer travel easier.
