We’re taking my son on his first flight next year and have a book all about jets, I was hoping to have the pilots and flight crew sign his book to commemorate his first tip on a plane. Does anyone have any idea how I can make this happen.

That's an easy one! Simply give the book to one of the flight attendants and explain your request to them. If they are like most Southwest flight crew members, they will gladly have the entire crew sign if for you.

Twitter is always a good way to reach out a little closer to the time - maybe a week or two in advance. Don't send any personal information until they ask for a direct message.
You may also mention this to the gate agent who would have the chance to check in with the crew before boarding.
