Liquids Through TSA

If I'm bringing liquids with me in my carry-on bag, how large can they be to go through the TSA? Is there a limit to the amount of size-approved liquids I can bring with me through the TSA?

I don't know how many you can bring in total, but they should be 3oz or less.

Solution

Per the TSA, you may carry liquids, gels and aerosols in your carry-on bags only if they adhere to the 3-1-1 rule: containers must be 3.4 ounces or less; stored in a 1 quart/liter zip-top bag; 1 zip-top bag per person, placed in the screening bin. Larger amounts of non-medicinal liquids, gels, and aerosols must be placed in checked baggage.

@DerekH it can be multiple liquids, as long as they all fit into a quart or liter bag? And can be in carry-on luggage?

@hilaryrimel This discussion is regarding carry-on bags.  Checked bags have no size rules for liquids.  More info about TSA's carry-on liquid rules can be found here:
