Could be a glitch, but demand for air travel is very high right now. I'm guessing Southwest thinks it can sell the flights at higher prices and doesn't need to offer discounted fares. You could compare prices booking the legs separately, there seems to be more WGA flights available that way.
Here's commentary about the demand being "insatiable"

I read a similar article, and it's worth noting that a competing airline (United) essentially admitted to holding back cheaper seats and selling them at much higher fares:
“Airlines also limited the number of their least expensive seats earlier in the year in anticipation of strong summer bookings.
"We didn't pre-sell the summer at lower (fares), we saved the seats and are now selling them at much higher (fares) and we're happy about that," said Andrew Nocella, chief commercial officer for United.

This seems to be what Southwest is doing, too, in some high-demand markets. I mean, even if demand is "high" I still don't think it's pre-pandemic level high - and no one is going to pay $1200 roundtrip to Vegas, not even me lol.

Is Southwest cutting Wanna Get Away (WGA) fares from the next few months of flight schedules? I have been looking up flights and for a vast majority of them over the next month or two, WGA fares are simply not available. I don't believe demand is that high and that WGA have sold out across the board. For PHL > LAS to name one example, the *entire* month of April has no WGA fares except for a select few dates, and May isn't much better.
What's the deal?

It's difficult to know for sure. At present Southwest is actually cutting flights over the next month due to the fuel crisis / labor issues. If fuel / labor doesn't improve, this might continue to happen in the summer, so there would be less flights available (and probably more expensive) than more flights available.

As a business traveler, I feel we have become the subsidizer's of the airline industry. And while I recognize we are living in extraordinary times, i was truly shocked to see a regular flight I've taken many times before now cost $1,172.95. And that isn't even non stop. Its 2 stops outbound and 2 stops inbound. A total flight time of 13hr 50min. Flying out Monday and return Friday.
I read an article yesterday that airlines were increasing prices across the board - not because of high fuel prices, they claim, but because of fuller planes. I don't necessarily believe that, but I did find this part interesting:
Airlines also limited the number of their least expensive seats earlier in the year in anticipation of strong summer bookings. "We didn't pre-sell the summer at lower (fares), we saved the seats and are now selling them at much higher (fares) and we're happy about that," said Andrew Nocella, chief commercial officer for United.

What are the Travel Credit details, restrictions and new booking policies? Travel Credits*:
Are valid for travel commencing 12 months from date of issue of the Travel Credit.
Are non-refundable, non-transferable, not redeemable for cash, and must be used for travel commencing by expiration date.
Will be issued in the names of each passenger on the original reservation.
Can I give my Travel Credits to someone else to use? Travel Credits are non-transferable.

First of all -- 22 phone calls? Seriously?
You'd have much better luck contacting Southwest via social media anyway - I get pretty immediate responses via Twitter Direct Message.
Second of all -- if you're short of neither time nor money, cut your losses and move on. Bags get lost. It happens all the time. Unfortunately, it happened to you. If you did the proper thing and filed a claim within 4 hours of arriving at your destination, that is the correct course of action and wait for a response to your claim. If they have not responded in 5 days:
What happens if my bag is never located?
Instructions on how to file a claim for lost baggage will be provided to you at the time you make an incident report with one of our Employees at the airport. If your bag is not located by the local Baggage Service Office after five days, you may download the form necessary to pursue your claim with Central Baggage Services from our Baggage Claim Web Portal. Please have your incident number available in order to access the portal.

Wanted to put it out there - do you think that Newark (EWR) is on Southwest's list of destinations in the future? Without it, they have no destinations serving New Jersey (other than LGA which can be a headache to get to from the Garden State).
Southwest was in EWR but pulled operations there a few years ago - I believe 2019.

Well, to be fair, no airline is exactly the same as it was, but Southwest still remains at the top of the list in my book.
Your posts about your flight and being charged to change it doesn't make sense. If Southwest makes a schedule change (i.e. your 8AM flight now departs at 8:30AM), Southwest sends you an e-mail that your flight has changed and if you are not happy with the change you can change it at no cost, typically within 72 hours of receiving the e-mail, although it may be a little longer now. If you waited longer than that to change your flight, you are out of luck and have to pay the difference if the fare increased. And by the way, we are having a gas crisis at the moment ... fares are going to be higher to compensate. It is that way across the board - this is not a "Southwest" problem.

Yep, weather will do this.
I had a flight in 2019 from PHL to FLL with a layover (I think in Orlando, I forget now) and rain was delaying the incoming flight and I was going to miss the connection. This was one of the few times I had checked a bag. They ended up putting me on a different connection - going from PHL > Chicago 🤣 but when I had asked about my bag, they said they automatically retagged it, and they did. It made it to FLL without any problems. If there are less connecting flights to work with, there isn't much that they can do.

Most of us here spend thousands of dollars to fly each year, every year - cash/CC refunds are not a thing. Travel funds are. If you purchased a more expensive fare type (Anytime or Business Select), then you could request a refund.

Maybe you missed it, but gas prices are incredibly expensive everywhere right now - this is not unique to Southwest. *All* airlines have higher than usual ticket prices right now.
Travel funds can only be used by the named person on the funds. This has always been the case, and Southwest is not going to change this due to current events.

Pretty incredible that no more nonstop flights would make you want to stop flying Southwest altogether? Southwest got rid of nonstop flights from PHL > LAS in *2019*. I'm still here. Flight routes change all the time - especially as we claw out of a 2 year pandemic.
Plus ... have you seen the price of gas lately?
Plus ... Islip is a tiny airport. I flew there once. TUL is also tiny - I can't even remember the last time I had a nonstop from PHL > TUL. It's probably been a solid decade.

Your first mistake was assuming that because the weather was clear in both Chicago and Cleveland, you were good to go. Where was your plane coming from, and what was the weather conditions like there? I use FlightAware.com to track flights and the web site not only tells you all about your own flight, it tells you were your plane is coming from and where it's going after you land. It's very useful, I suggest you use it in the future. It gives you peace of mind (or not lol) when you can tell exactly where your flight is and if it's on time or not, where it is in the country, etc.
Unfortunately, planning for "a full year" doesn't mean anything when you get to the day of your flight and there is really bad weather, a mechanical problem, an employee shortage, other flight delays which causes your flight crew to be delayed, or various other factors that could cause a flight to be delayed or cancelled.
We are still clawing our way out of a pandemic and flights overall are still not "normal" yet - flights have been delayed and cancelled en masse and at random for 2 full years now. Your cancelled flight is not an exception to what we have been dealing with since 2020.
To address just one of your many points --
We were not offered water, pretzels, a snack, absolutely anything. We were unable to return to the main airport to eat, relax or shop because passengers had already exited due to the gate staff informing us that our luggage was ready. There is no food or refreshment vendor at baggage claim at Midway Airport. Southwest staff did not even offer us a drink ticket, miles for future travel, just attitude and lack of care.
I'm not sure why you think Southwest is going to give you free food as you wait for your bags at baggage claim (although the 5 hour wait time is a bit ridiculous if true - and especially if your bags were there "the whole time" surely it would not have taken 5 hours to get them to a baggage claim carousal).
They are not entitled to give you any of what you claim (a drink ticket, really?).
However - if your flight was cancelled by Southwest and they did not put you on another flight (it's still unclear if you eventually took a flight or not) you should be refunded, and contacting Southwest and explaining the situation should rectify this.
