@dlohr you can get in touch with Southwest to request a refund -- click "Contact Us" at the bottom of the forum pages for options, Twitter is probably the fastest way to get a response.

I can get on the mainpage but can not select a flight. Been having these problems for several months and after SWA reset my account, it worked for awhile and now is doing the same thing as before.

Not sure why the SWA person didn't suggest rather than just thank the one person that suggested calling. Go to My Account and then to Recent Activity. It will show all acitivity including cancelled flights, refunded miles, etc. along with your confirmation code. Ironically, it does NOT show travel fund credits. I agree that SWA does not make this particular process easy. There is no reason you should not automatically see all your travel fund credits on My Account when you log in. This is clearly a business decision hoping that a certain amount of travle funds will lapse. If they can show that much detail on my "recent activity", they can list all the travel funds available. I have been an A List Preferred customer as well as achieving Companion fare status for four years straight and that doesn't feel like the SWA philosophy that I get with everything else. Hello. I think that almost everyone would like to see Southwest have a place where travelers xould find all of their available travel funds. When you say "There is no reason you should not automatically see all your travel fund credits on My Account when you log in" there actually may be a reason. We have no idea how complicated it may be to buid a computer interface to capture all credits, a database to store them, and then revise the My Account webpage to provide access, As others have said, Southwest probably does not have the best IT department. I really don't think the company is intentionally encouraging the loss of travel funds, but I do not know that for a fact. IMO Southwest is an honarable company, and encouraging the loss of travel funds is not something an honorable company would do. Until the company provides the feature you seek, we should be responsible for our own actions, and simply save information we get from the company about unused travel funds. It really is that simple. You can't be serious. This would be an extremely easy thing for them to do. I'm sorry for being a jerk, but don't be naive. They don't want you to find your credits. It really is that simple. But you are right, we should be responsible because Southwest Airlines wants to screw us out of our credits so it's up to us to ensure they don't do so. If Southwest wanted to "screw you" out of your travel credits, it would do what United, Delta and American do. It would deduct $200 from travel funds EVERY TIME you tried to use travel funds from a changed or canceled flight. It would be quite simple. Those $180 travel funds? Poof, they're gone. Those $240 travel funds? They're worth $40. Instead SW lets every person who takes responsibility keep every penny of their travel funds. So what's keeping you from acting responsibly?

In regards to the nonstops to Vegas disappearing, you can add me to that list, as nonstops from PHL to LAS went away this year (2019). My last nonstop was booked in October 2018. I just make do and book flights with stops. To the previous poster: I can't believe not having a nonstop flight would stop you from going to Vegas altogether! Not me, I love Vegas too much lol. But I believe these flight consolidations, at least this year's, are obviously due to the MAX 8 grounding issues. --Jessica

Although Mamadesiete's reply is 2 years after the initial post, thanks for sharing it. Per the response by dfwskier of the TSA site info, and me half agreeing that the security questions failure is valid (I wasn't there), there is a general theme about the TSA 'agents'; Some of them should find a different line of work. Some do not know the guidelines or apply those rules as they deem proper. They also exercise their duty with impunity. And only sometimes does their playing god wrongly ever become known to the traveling public, ie the 'breast milk' or 'childs toy' or 'grope/fondle' events. Minor case was peanut butter, never permitted, but some agents do not mention to the public that alternatives exist to throwing the item into the trash. And what might be OK with one scanner is voboten by another, with arguing never being sucessful.

Any updates to these tool schedules? Getaway and Route Map? I want to plan trips to Latin America or the Caribbean, but I have spent hours guessing, does SW fly to Grand Cayman Island, is it seasonal, do I have to fly across the country first to get a connection. I have that same question for all of your other destinations. This tool is such a necessity. Help us be the frequent flyers/customers you want us to be.

Calling the 800 # does not always help. My first name has a hyphen on my birth certificate, but goverment computers put in a space instead. Originally my SW profile had the hyphen but I called to have itremoved so it wouldn't showup on boarding passes (just so flight tickets matched the drivers license or passport ID). SW profile was adjusted to match but it still shows up wrong now. Strangely in emails, some boarding info, has matching spelling but when printed out or on the app it's missing the second part of my first name. I'm always nervous going through security becaue a few times they have been unpleasant about it. On the SW app only the first half of my name shows up as if the end part of my first name (with or without a hyphen) is a middle name. Every flight I have to scramble to print and check whether it's closer to use an email versus the app (none of which are actually matching). The only thing that seems consistent is my growing frustration.

@jfharris86 wrote: Yea looks like im joining the bandwagon on this one. Woke up on the 7/22/19 and had an email telling me changes were made to my Southwest account. Roughly 120,000 points gone and used on the rapids rewards shopping page. I'm assuming for gift cards or something like that. I called not even 3 hours after the points were used and was told they couldn't cancel it. Whoever hacked my account went as far as changing my email address and security questions. I'm assuming he changed the email address so the e-gift cards would go to him. First I was told it would take 10 to 30 days to look into, just called back today and was told, sorry they are very busy, it could take 30 to 60 days and no update on if I'd get my points back. She basically said lets see what the team discovers and then we can talk about that. Very frustrating situation. On the plus I did learn that you can call and put a security word on the account to make it harder for people to hack your account, would have been nice to see this advertised while signing up for the account. I'm like 3 or 4 flights from A List Preferred and got the companion pass back in May. I love Southwest but 2 months to investigate fraud, no wonder no one gets caught. Unfortunately, Southwest's account security is somewhat lax by industry standards -- no two-factor authentication, no address/name checking on 3rd party purchase access, ease of changing personal info. So it represents an easy target for hackers. The best thing you can do to protect yourself is have a strong password. And (apparently, as it isn't published) add a security word to telephone access on your account, for what that's worth. The good news is that generally, once Southwest verifies that the points were used by an unauthorized person, they refund them to your account. This process can unfortunately take some time.

Congratulations on your role in CS&S! Unfortunately, once you accept a position with Southwest, you are taken out of eligibility for other Southwest position you may have had an application in for. Wow do I disagree! SWA is one of the most unfriendly for folding bikes I have ever taken! I flew AlaskaAir to Portland from Oakland, they were nice, and checked in my folding bike as a free piece of luggage. Southwest however on the way back insisted on charging me $75 for oversized! Pulled out the tape measure and said it was a few inches over! Very NOT nice about it, and were insistent. DONT fly SWA if you have a choice, fly AlaskaAir. I tried customer relations and they refused to refund me the oversize charge. SWA customer service: NASTY!
