Until the photo is approved by the admin, we can't see it. But in the meantime, you can see here to understand what all counts for CP qualification. Points earned through hotel stays booked through Southwest do count toward CP status. If you are looking to pad your CP qualifying points, be sure to use the Southwest Rapid Rewards Shopping Portal! I recommend installing the Chrome browser plugin that will alert you when sites reward SW points for shopping.

The crazy thing about the Bluebird is that it is located in a little strip center away from downtown, no where near "Music Row" and all the other music-centric downtown locations in Music City. It is definitely a really cool, intimate place, and like most places in Nashville, you never know who will show up!

I love this new part of the announcements from the flight attendants! I heard the flight attendant say it last week, and I'm glad to know this is an update for all SW flights. When you encounter questionable behavior on flight, even when it is as simple as someone using their device with no headphones, you should notify the flight attendant. Check it out here.

I’m a little jelly! Enjoy your trip. Fortunately, MDW has vastly improved its dining options. When I’m there waiting on a connection, I like to stroll around just to get the blood pumping before being parked in my seat on the plane.

The situation could also determine the value. You can't always be available to check in 24 hours out. Perhaps you will be in a meeting. If so, then it might be worth it to not have the stress of not being able to check in. Without a doubt, you will have a better boarding position than you would have without EBCI.

@steveGS Same here in that I don't think there is a policy on this. I get your frustration...it is too bad you could not take an earlier flight. And it sounds like there was a bit of a communication breakdown, which happens. That said, I do understand the can of worms/logistical lift it could cause to try and move you (and then potentially most of the plane) to an earlier flight, especially in a short amount of time. Also, did you check a bag? Going ahead of your bag presents a whole new challenge. FWIW, Southwest does allow free standby for A List members, so in that case, A Listers can take earlier flights on the same day where seats are available for free.

Are the flights from those airports direct? SW does not have a large presence at IAD, so you may not have as many options from there. The question becomes: if BWI is convenient for you, is it worth spending more to get to the other airports to save some money on the fare?

@route66lil I think the point is that if the open seating works for you, go with SW. If you have the need/desire to have pre selected seating, choose another airline. For me, the benefits of flexibility with SW outweigh any of the downsides of open seating.

Agree with @bec102896. All airlines reserve the right to change aircraft type. I think you will see alternative options for folks wanting to avoid the MAX from SW. Hopefully you can take advantage of those options.

@mwallace I visited the Medford area a few years ago and found it very lovely! I especially enjoyed 2Hawk Vinyard and Winery! Anyway... You will likely not get an answer for your feedback here since this is primarly a customer-drived community. SW is in a situation where planes are at a premium due to the grounding of 737 MAX, so I doubt we will be seeing new locations opened soon. Use the Contact Us link below to look at ways to provide your feedback directly to SW, and happy flying!

"Southwest just upped their bonus offers on all three personal credit cards. Now, you can earn an all time high 75,000 bonus points." This is great news considering SW increased the number of points required to achieve Companion Pass. Read more about this offer here, and as always with credit card offers, be sure to read the terms and conditions carefully! If you want to play the game, you have to know the rules.

Read all about how to miximize your Companion Pass here at this story from TPG! Remember that you can change your designation Companion up to 3 times a year. Also, keep in mind that the SW T&Cs for CP technically require the Companion to have the physical pass card in hand, although this policy never seems to be enforced. Here is the offical wording from SW: "The Member and the Companion must check in together and, if asked, present the Companion Pass card at the Southwest Ticket Counter, Skycap podium, or Departure Gate in order for the Companion to travel." Learn all about the Companion Pass here. Now is a great time to work toward qualification for 2021!

If you landed late in the day, I have a feeling you points posting just got tied up in the reset of the status tracker for the new year and that it will come out fine in the end. Thay said, you've did the right thing by reaching out to the SW team to confirm. Keep us posted, and enjoy that status!

I am not sure the logic behind this, but I just found my annual points bonus, and the annual fee was not on the same statement. So it seems that can happen. I would reach out to Chase for further explanation. https://www.chase.com/personal/credit-cards/customer-service

This is a tough situation, but the fact of the matter is that SW likely did all they could since you missed your original flight. If all the flights after yours were full, they were not able to confirm your seats, so they put you on standby. Generally, standby passengers board after all others with confirmed seats, so you were not able to use family boarding. Again, it is unfortunate that you experienced this, especially with a little one, but during the business holiday travel times, flights are full and options for re-booking are limited.

"Please don't roast a newby." HA...you must be thinking this is like some of the frequent traveller Facebook groups. I don't think you will find any newby-roasting here! 🙂 Unfortunately, you are probably too late to make the ALP thing work. The only sure-fire way that you could make that happen would be to find a roundtrip that is today and is worth 9K tier qualifying points (Business Select fare, maybe?), but accomplishing that is unlikely since it would have to be today. The most important thing you can do when playing the travel rewards game is to plan ahead. Generally, I try to ensure that by each October, I have a plan through the end of the year that will get me to my goal status. The good news is that you have A List and the coveted Companion Pass; congrats! Maybe next year, you will be able to get to A List Preferred. Good luck, and happy flying!
