“The patients we serve know they can count on us for a smiling face and an uplifting tune.”—Pete Griffin, President, Musicians On Call
Photo by Jason Myers As president of Musicians On Call, a nonprofit that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in health care facilities, Pete Griffin sees the healing power of music daily. When he joined MOC, Pete opened a Rapid Rewards® Credit Card for the organization, allowing the team to earn points, redeem travel, and create opportunities in new cities for patients, families, and caregivers. Musicians On Call has reached more than 600,000 people in adult facilities, children’s hospitals, VA hospitals, and hospices, but to reach millions more, Pete and his team are investing in technology to directly connect musicians to the hospitals they serve. Thank you, Pete. Your work is music to our ears!

Checking In “I work hard to stay in touch because you never know when you might work with a person again, or be in a position to help each other’s businesses.”
On the Fly “A lot of travel I do with Musicians On Call has last minute changes. No other airline gives us the flexibility we need like Southwest.”
Dream Team “You can have a great mission and the best plan, but if you don’t have the right people, it simply won’t come together.”

Southwest Airlines wants you to kick back and relax at its newest porch located in a city that’s brand new to the network map. This week, we officially opened the Southwest Porch at Washington Park in Cincinnati and invite the whole community to come out and enjoy everything the Porch has to offer including life-sized versions of some of our favorite childhood games.
“It’s great to have a place for our Customers, Employees, and everyone who lives, works, and plays in Cincinnati to come relax and enjoy everything this community has to offer,” Southwest’s Cincinnati Station Leader Justin Jordan said. “The Porch gives us an opportunity to extend our reach beyond the airport and into the community.”
The space, which includes chairs and tables, is shaded by a canopy that creates an inviting and refreshing atmosphere. We are all about having fun as well, and that is why we included activities and games that accommodate all ages. Games such as a “Bags Fly Free” bag toss, ping pong, life-sized Chess, and more round out the space and and allow neighbors to enjoy the company of other Cincinnatians in the comfort of the new Porch.
As a Cincinnati native, let me tell you about Washington Park. Washington Park is located in the Over-the-Rhine district, which is one of the city’s fastest growing areas. The park represents the historic growth of the city and is located just across from the remarkable Cincinnati Music Hall. Washington Park combines all the offerings of a residential park within the urban atmosphere of the city. We are excited to be a part of the vibrant and ever-growing atmosphere in this historic area!
We teamed up with the Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC) to create programming and events that will bring people to the porch. From hosting dog happy hours, called “Yappy Hours,” to movies in the park, Washington Park creates a wonderful setting for everyone to unwind and enjoy everything the Queen City has to offer.
At the end of the day, we hope this showcases our commitment to Cincinnati as we look to grow in the future. Southwest first touched down in Cincinnati over the summer and continues to make waves throughout the region with its Customer-friendly policies like no change fees* and no fees to check up to two bags**!
Whether it's for a picnic or a post work get-together, we look forward to hosting Cincinnatians in an inviting space with the hospitality and care of Southwest Airlines!
