Why is there an iframe??? All I ever do is stare at the “revving up” image and the “submit” link NEVER appear… every flight, every time.
(please don’t suggest I reboot or clear my cookies- I’ve tried everything.)
i click A list preferred, so just take me directly to the authentication screen that is NOT an iframe- please!!!!🙏
But do try going to the free texting page and accepting it, then going back to A-list preferred login. For some reason that worked for me, whatever setting it is that gets put in place by accepting the texting permissions.

You could tell SW that you'd like to see that happen by contacting Customer Relations. https://community.southwest.com/t5/Knowledge-Base/Contact-Customer-Relations/ta-p/108355

Failure to plan ahead on someone else's fault is not an emergency on mine. If they NEEDED three seats together, there were a number of ways for them to get it. Personally, I disagree with people who say that you in the wrong. There are some situations where we need to be understanding like someone boarding a full flight with a small child where their connection was late. But, if they simply didn't want to pay EBCI, and they didn't check in early enough to get three seats together on a full flight, that's on them.

Another problem that could be avoided altogether by flying an airline that lets you book your seat when you book your ticket. I know most airlines know charge extra for this but at least you know what seat your getting. SWA charges for EB or BS or an upgrade to BS at the gate and you still take your chances.

I’m “one of those” that saves seats, when traveling with my family. I do have a few rules I like to abide by: no row before row 9 and definitely not an exit row. I fly enough that I’m one of the first 3 passengers to board after Business Select, but my family ends up in late A or early B. Saving the exit row is a “no no” in my opinion. Excessive seat saving in the front is a “no no” too. I’ve been on a flight where 2 ladies held 13 seats for friends, in the first 7 rows. 🙄

It doesn’t take much flying on SW to understand that this was an isolated incident. SW didn’t even have to state that this is out of character for them for me to know it is out of character for them. But I have to leave it up to them to handle it appropriately, and I expect that they will. And political leanings aside, I won’t boycott the airline with the best customer service in the biz over the actions of one, however irresponsible.

Just fly more often and you won't have to worry about it. Get A-List with 25 segments and your EB fee days are gone!

Hey there - great idea! I'll pass this along to our Employee Experience team as we have lots of the underpinnings to make this happen. Just need to prioritize it on the backlog. I've also added this to our app backlog as well.
Thanks for sharing!

It's probably a key difference that the people ask when you offer them at the seats vs taking one at the front while still carrying their luggage. I think the best recommendation is to continue protect your self, and if you are willing to share with your seat mates if you are willing.

DAL-BHM today. The bad news? No WiFi. The good news? Relatively short flight. As someone noted, keeping low expectations is helpful. <sigh>

The order of assigned positions remains a mystery, but BS passengers no longer need to check themselves in right at t minus 24 in order to receive the best position. Darn it, the community just convinced me it was the other way! I don't have much perspective, when I have bought BS before it is usually last minute, so if order of purchase is a factor I would tend to be last. I also had thought it was auto-check-in (when it may not have been) so both variables tending to make me later in the BS group so I can't do any A/B testing from my own experience. 😉 For what it's worth, Southwest hasn't officially announced any change, so it's possible this is just some kind of glitch or other temporary side effect that may go away at some point. (To me, however, it always seemed odd that BS passengers weren't checked in automatically.)
