Seems like most of the major airlines have raised their bag fees - JetBlue and United among them! https://www.afar.com/magazine/these-u-s-airlines-have-all-raised-their-checked-bag-fees

I use PayPal to pay for my flights 99.9% of the time and never have issues. Could be an internet connection or other issue causing your payment not to go through.

Honestly, does it really matter if the line isn't 100% alphanumeric? Depending on people's luggage with them, who they're with, etc., the line tends to get out of sequence for a number or two. It's never bothered me.

This is a simple misunderstanding of the Southwest boarding policy. You are not assigned seats. It is first come, first serve. A group boards first, B group boards second, C group boards third and last, and by that time, most aisle/window seats are taken. Now you know for the future. You could have gotten around this by purchasing early bird, which gives you a better boarding position (but even then it is not guaranteed, if many others also purchase early bird).

American Airlines checked bag fee is now more expensive, company announces
Checking a bag on American Airlines will now cost you more than at every other major US airline.
The carrier announced Tuesday that the price of the first checked-bag on most flights is increasing to $40 for customers that didn't prepay online. It will cost $35 if paid online during check in. That's as much as a 33% increase from what it previously cost on American Airlines: $30 for both methods.
Flights within and between the United States, Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands are all affected by the price increase. American has also hiked the price of a second checked bag to $45 (up from $40.)
Other routes are also getting price increase, too: Checked-baggage fees on flights between to and from the US to Canada, Caribbean, Mexico and Central America destinations now costs $35 (up from $30) and the second checked bag fee is $45 (up from $40).
Changes are effective for flights booked beginning Tuesday. Passengers that bought tickets prior to this will pay the previous prices. Flyers that have an airline-branded credit card, buy tickets in premium cabins or have status are largely exempt from the price increases.
American didn't immediately respond to CNN's request for comment. The changes were reflected on its website as of Tuesday.
American's largest rivals, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines, charge $30 for the first checked bag and $40 for a second on similar routes. However, it's not uncommon for them to follow since that has happened in the past.
The price increase comes at a time when airlines are battling rising fuel and labor costs. American (AAL) revealed in its earnings last month that its net income plunged 98% for the last three months of 2023.
U.S. airlines make a ton of money these fees. In 2022, they made a record $6.8 billion on baggage fees, according to the most recent data from Bureau of Transportation Statistics.

I hope Southwest never starts charging bag fees. They are so ahead of the game in this area compared to everyone else.

In my experience they nearly always announce how full the flight is as we get close to boarding - I always pay attention because then I wonder if I will get "lucky" and have an empty middle seat in a row that I'm in 😄

Could they be anniversary points from Chase? The Southwest description for points activity is fairly minimal, but if it says "Credit Card" then it's safe to assume that the points came from Chase CC activity, and if you aren't sure what exactly it's for it would be best to contact them. But I'm not sure what else it could be if it was not anniversary points, referral points, or points earned from spending activity. Every $10,000 spent you get 1,500 TQP as well.

What did you do to warrant a FA "screaming" at you? Did you get up to use the restroom at the front of the plane when the restroom was occupied? You cannot form a line at the front of the plane. If you did this, an FA telling you to go back to your seat was warranted.

I noticed this too for one of my flights, and there doesn't seem to be a time limit to make the free change(s), whereas before you had to do it in 72 hours (on average) then the option went away.

Awesome post! I personally am not a fan of the F1 race, and I normally go to Vegas this time of year, but I'm waiting it out until after this race is over and all of this is hopefully gone? My fear is that the stands are going to stay up and it's never going to go away entirely ... I feel like they ruined a lot of the LVStrip to prepare for a race that, in the end, not a lot care about. Hotel prices have plummeted this week and I am sure people who paid hundreds/thousands for rooms are a bit ticked that they are quite cheaper now due to apparent lack of demand.

Good question; I've never had to cancel an ePass once I redeemed it, but my guess is you will get to use it again and you will just have to call them again to redeem it again.

Don't Business Select fares get a free drink, too? I wonder with this announcement if they're going to resume the drink coupons, or if they're only for ALP / BS now.

Loving this! I'm so glad someone else uses Southwest Hotels as much as I do lol
I almost always book through them, unless I'm in Vegas/AC, where I book direct with MGM or Caesars. I had several Hyatt direct stays last year due to their partnership with MGM and a status match to Explorist, but MGM is transitioning to Mariott for partnership now, so that changes things. If I'm ever staying at a Holiday Inn or wherever, I go through Southwest.

Southwest is also adding a new perk for A-List Preferred members. Starting on Nov. 6, those status holders can get two free premium drinks on every flight with drink vouchers that will be loaded into customers’ accounts and accessed through the Southwest app.
OH. Will you look at that. Digital drink vouchers!!
20 flights vs. 25 gives me a chance to get to A-List now 😄 Although it still may be easier for me to get there with points ... lol ... we'll see how this goes!

So as a weekly flyer with Southwest I used to get drink coupons in the mail after 4 flights or so but now nothing … I can only presume that everyone else around me had these now luxurious coupons from past negative experiences but come on why do you stop rewarding your loyal customers??
This was discussed in this thread earlier this year - Southwest stopped sending out coupons - we do not know when they will send them again. I'm crossing my fingers that they move to digital coupons.

Well this was a mouthful.
Did you officially file a claim? Did you eventually get your bag? Nothing is clear here. If this bag was as important to you on your "very emotional trip" as you claim, I'd go pick it up without hesitation, if that is what you were told to do.
Leaving a "Google review" ... is that what people do these days? I don't think I've ever considered going to Google itself to leave a review about Southwest (or really anything).

The web version used to at least show 6-8 future flights on booking screen, but it is very laborious to scroll through 15 - 20 pages and update your own spreadsheet for future flights.
One of the primary needs of this is to avoid duplicate bookings, and to avoid missing a 'check-in', and boarding, resulting in forfeited fare.
I'm not totally sure what you are looking for. Do you not see all your bookings on Southwest.com? They should all be under "My upcoming trips". If you have the Southwest app, they are all listed under the Home page and also My Trips, that might be a better view for you.

So on my recent Tues-Wed trip I used the new “Where did I park?” feature in the Southwest app (iPhone). There is an option to take a photo and add notes, and I did both. When I returned from my trip and looked at “Where did I park?” none of the data was available! No photo and no notes! It was like I never entered anything. Thank goodness I remembered where I parked! 🤣 So I’m trying it again, this time I am just adding a note. I want to see if the note remains after a day. If the app is only keeping the data for 24 hours, that isn’t helpful 😂
Also as a side note - the Delete text is wrapping onto the next line for both notes and photos:
Has anyone else used this feature without any issues?

Hi Jessica-
I have never used this feature but have an upcoming Tue-Wed trip coming up later in October. I found the option on my phone app and I'll try to reproduce what you saw during this trip so that it is in conjunction with an active flight itinerary.
Looks like you're doing an offline 'test' of this feature. You know the drill if it disappears after 24 hours...let 'em know:
https://www.southwest.com/html/contact-us/
Yes for sure! From what I can tell the parking feature isn't directly tied to a flight or anything like that - it looks like you can use it at any time. That probably makes sense because you could be flying any number of places on different itineraries and your parking info should remain until you go back in and delete it. Let me know how it works for you!
I may have just found the culprit - I logged out of the app entirely, logged back in, and the parking data is gone. While logged in, I added a note again, it saved, but when I log out/back in, it's gone. So that's fun. I will have to report it 🙂

As long as the 2 bags meet and do not exceed the sizing dimensions, I don't think it should matter if they are both rollerbags or not. Most people -do not- have two rollerbags though, so I'm guessing that's why it's being questioned. Most have 1 rollerbag and something smaller like a purse or backpack. But again, if you just have these 2 items and no 3rd item like a purse or backpack, I don't see why you can't board with both, especially if one of them fits underneath the seat.
