How do you earn base points through Southwest's partners and identify who those partners are in order for them to count towards earning a CP?

Do hotels booked on Southwest.com count towards earning companion pass points? I see some hotels noted with Earn 1,000 miles on the site. Will all 1,000 count towards earning the CP? I'm the closest I've ever been to earning one this year so I'm going for it! I just need to understand what counts and what doesn't.
