Yes, there was a press release that I found on the SWA website that it is effective at the end of October 2018. Something about expanding their flights to San Jose. This does nothing for me since I need to go from SNA to SFO once a month. Now I've noticed the most recent sales are excluding Orange County entirely. So even if I choose to fly to OAK instead, I can't get a sale flight. I could fly out of Long Beach, but that is another 1/2 hour drive (no thanks). I love SWA, but the combo of no sale flights and no non-stop flights has me heading to a competitor. See ya SWA.

I have $346 in unused travel funds. If I book a trip using only $224 of these funds, will I be able to use the remaining balance on another trip (before they expire, of course)?

Southwest saved us over $400 with their generous stand-by policy when we missed our flight.
We were flying into Los Angeles on a non-Southwest international flight that was delayed (the delay was entirely that other airlines fault!) and would cause us to miss our Southwest flight from Los Angeles to the Bay Area. Upon touching down in Los Angeles, I was immediately on the phone to Southwest to see about rebooking. I assumed that since I had booked the cheapest "wanna get away" fare, I would lose what I had paid and have to pay a much higher, same-day fare. The agent informed me that as long as we checked into the Southwest ticket desk within 2 hours of our original flight, we could fly stand-by at no extra cost! Was there room on the next flight? Yes! What a great way to end our vacation. My faith in Southwest is now unshakeable!

Southwest saves the day by making sure my luggage arrives with me on the first leg of my flight going on vacation.
I was flying from the San Francisco Bay Area to Los Angeles on Southwest to connect to a non-Southwest flight for an international destination. It was one of those days this past February when we practically had to swim to the airport. My husband and I had separate confirmation numbers and checked in separately. I was a bit too efficient, finished my check-in, and my luggage had already gone down the conveyor belt when my husband said our flight was delayed several hours because of the weather. But his checkin agent was rebooking him on an early flight and I asked that agent to also rebook me, which he did. But my luggage was gone! On any other airline, I think the answer would have been "sorry, you'll have to file a claim when you get to Los Angeles." Not Southwest! The agent called down to the luggage handlers and had them retag my bag. The best part? It arrived! Only on Southwest!
