Skate on Over to Skyline

It’s that time of the year!  The holidays have hit Downtown Denver, which means it’s the perfect time for ice skating!  That’s right, in case you haven’t heard, Southwest Airlines has partnered with our good friends at the Downtown Denver Partnership to bring back the Southwest Rink at Skyline Park for a second year!

Located at the corner of 16th Street and Arapahoe, the Southwest Rink at Skyline Park is now open for business and will remain open until Valentine’s Day.  The Rink is open seven days a week, with a variety of special events taking place all season long.  And don’t forget, skating is FREE, with the option to bring your own skates or rent a pair for just $2.

The Rink is situated just steps away from the Southwest Porch at Skyline Park, where you can sit back, absorb the “grand illumination” of the lighted trees, watch the skaters, and enjoy a hot cup of cocoa, coffee, or beverage of your choice while listening to holiday music.  Rink goers will even receive special offers, so be sure to show the Porch staff your Rink wrist band!

SWAboni

Recently, our Southwest-branded Zamboni literally took flight as it was lowered into the Rink area in preparation for our grand opening.  The above construction photo was taken on November 10; can you believe it takes just 15 days to transform this urban park into an ice skating rink?  It’s pretty incredible!

So come and enjoy the beauty of an outdoor rink!  Be sure to dress warmly, but stay awhile, skate awhile, or just hang out and take in the fun and beauty of the Southwest Rink at Skyline Park!  For more information on the Rink, visit www.southwestrink.com.

From all of us here at Southwest Airlines: Thank you, Denver!
