Oakland based Pilot, Peter Vanpelt, has been inspiring students both locally and abroad for the past five years as an Adopt-A-Pilot Ambassador. Southwest’s Adopt-A-Pilot program allows Pilots to volunteer their time by visiting classrooms and mentoring students through their knowledge of aviation.
Today, Southwest Airlines announces our intent to serve Honolulu, HI (Oahu); Kahului, HI (Maui); Kona, HI (Island of Hawaii); Lihue, HI (Kauai). In 2007, Southwest Airlines proudly launched the Medical Transportation Grant Program (MTGP) to help provide nonprofit hospitals and medical organizations across the nation with roundtrip tickets for patients and/or caregivers in need. We are pleased to share the 2018 MTGP recipients includes 79 hospitals across the United States, including 3 hospitals that are brand new to the program this year!
