My husband recently flew from Florida to Virginia with Southwest and followed the necessary procedures to declare his firearm. He ensured it was unloaded and presented it during the check-in process. However, he did not receive any special claim ticket for the firearm.
Upon reaching his destination in Virginia, his checked bag, including the declared firearm, came out on the carousel with everyone else's luggage. Has anyone else experienced this before?

Confused with your question, but yes, the luggage comes out with all others at baggage claim.

I’ve flown with firearms for over 20 years, both military and civilian LEO. Declare your firearm when you check it in, follow the screening instructions of each individual airport, they almost all vary. Claim your bag at the other end and be on your merry way. No added security, only TSA knows your bag has a firearm. No worries.
