It gave the Southwest desert dignity and publicity. I have been on 3 or 4.

You may still be lucky enough to fly in one of these, even though Southwest retired two 737-700 planes that had these colors. The aircraft "The Hebert D. Kelleher" (Tail Number: IN871HK) is a recent 737-MAX8 plane introduced last year with Southwest's original colors, dedicated to Southwest co-founder Herbert D. Kelleher.

According the FlightAware, it flew in and out of my home airport at SAN on Thu 11/30 and Fri 12/1 with a couple of short-haul flights to/from some of my destinations like LAS and SJC.

Edit: the Colleen tribute will be different livery, not the desert theme.
