Joint Credit Card and Companion Pass Reward

I am the primary account holder on a Rapid Rewards premier card. My wife and I got married in May 2016, at which point I added her on to my previously exisiting card.

I want to know if my wife were to open up a rapid rewards card for the sole purpose of getting the companion pass, would she be eligible if she is already a joint member on my account.

Any insight would be very helpful!

Yes she would! If she has never been the primary.
