I need to book 5 plane tickets for my family vacation in March.  I have enough RR points for two tickets but need to pay cash for the other three, can I do this all in one transaction so all tickets are on one itinerary?

No. You'll need to make individual bookings. Once you do, contact Customer Relations and ask that the itineraries be "linked." Unfortunately, you'll still have multiple confirmation numbers, but it will help if you encounter IROPS.
