Hello SW community,
I cancelled a trip back in October 2020 due to getting sick prior to the trip. We received a full refund for 1 ticket, but the other was returned as a travel fund. We haven't been able to travel yet due to a recent newborn, but planning to travel in December 2020/January 2021. The travel fund I received is set to expire on 10/26/2021.
What is the best way to use the expiring travel fund for our upcoming trip? Would I need to wait for it expire, request to extend it for $100, see if they accept my request, then book the ticket? OR is it impossible to use for the December/January trip and just book a random trip before it expires?
Appreciate your help in advance!

You pretty much nailed it. If there's somewhere you can go to get more value from the funds now than waiting for a later booking on your intended flight (and risking the price going up)... go for it.
Good luck.

Nowhere to go right now, but will be taking more trips during December/January for the holidays. Thanks for your response.
What's the turnaround on extending the expired travel fund?
