Connecting flights

Hi everyone, first time travelers to the US, we are flying from LAX to Memphis with a 50min stopover in Dallas Love field. I am worried about our checked luggage making the next flights. Will our bags go directly to the 2nd part of the trip or will we have to retrieve them and re check them? Thanks for any help

When you check in with Southwest at LAX they will tag the baggage for MEM so when you get to DAL all you have to do is get yourselves to the next gate.

50 minutes is plenty at DAL to get the luggage, they book as tight as 30 minutes sometimes.
