I see that a ski bag and boot bag together count as one piece of checked luggage and that overweight fees apply. I don't see any reference to whether other things can be included in the bags. I was told by a ski club trip leader that the airlines have a policy that only your skis, poles, and boots can be in the bag; however, I see nothing that says that in the SWA baggage policy. I'm assuming if I put some lightweight clothing in the boot bag, that's okay - that it's the weight limit that matters. Does anyone know for certain? Also, does the combination of the ski bag and boot bag need to weigh less than 50 pounds? (vs. each bag by itself?)
