Southwest notification policy for bed bug infestation

Can you please let me Southwest’s business and/or moral obligation in informing us of the bed bug infestation at this exact terminal and gate that is only made aware from the news? We had our jackets, shoes, carry-on luggage, etc. on these floors and surfaces and potentially in our homes. But no one from Southwest has taken the courtesy to make us aware. I have reached yo Southwest twice without a response.

The gate and associated areas are under the control of an airport authority.  They control the space and they alone.

Contact the airport authority.

My concern is as of today, Southwest hasn’t informed the customers. we were at Terminal 2, Gate E5

This was the response from Southwest to the media:

thry lease the area and maintain it.”

Southwest Airlines’s daily operations includes programmatic cleaning of its leased spaces and equipment, according to Southwest.

if you are notifying the DOT why are you not moving the customers who are sitting in the area and direct exposure to the bed bug manifestation.

To be clear, it was 3 gates not 1, and it is not clear exactly who notified DOT.

It appears  SW employee saw bugs on day 2 of the event.

The 3 gates and that corridor are Southwest. If Southwest knew there was a complaint of bed bugs and cleaning was being done, until there is a report of all clear, why have customers sit there and not notify us? They knew. Why read about this in the news?

I don't expect any business obligation if it is the airport's responsibility in the gate area.

I didn't see the news report so hard to say if it would be something they should notify you of or not, or whether they would have gotten the information in a timely manner, who is affected, etc.
