Looking for ideas as to what to do in the airport (and with luggage) for 6 hrs. while waiting for my son's flight to arrive.

Depends a lot on the airport. Care to say where you will be?

Baltimore Washington Int. Airport. I'm coming from WI and not at all familiar with the BWI airport. Thanks

Staying in the airport won't be too exciting, there's a small mall like collection of shops inside security. Outside security there's an upstairs observation deck if you're a fan of plane watching, and a decent micro brewery. There's a couple other ideas here: http://zbestlimo.com/bwi-layover/
Apparently there's a mediation room? That might be good for a couple hour nap!
If you're willing to venture out with your luggage there's plenty to see/do in Baltimore. Take the light rail or for less hassle grab an uber. More suggestions and info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/baltimore/comments/52qh2u/7_hour_layover_at_bwi_is_that_enough_time_to/
Good luck, and let us know what you did

Depending on the time of day (traffic) and your adventure level you can always research a local place to eat and Uber for a sample of a local delicacy.
