Are there any true discounted fares? In all fairness I have scored some great deals by playing the game. However when flying to Hawaii leaving from Phoenix I only want non stop or I will be flying for many hours more to circle the wagons here before heading over the pond just to save a couple of dollars. Guess I need to develop some patients and start tracking. Thank you for the info.

I was recently excited to receive a notification from SWA regarding a fare sale. So I immediately bit..visited site and typed in my dates. Since I will be using my RW miles, I need to stay witin a certain amount. In selecting the best time to fly calendar I was elated to see a great possibility for us, even gave me the amount which fit into my points. Next I was instructed to select flights and all of a sudden prices where considerably higher than the first page. Is this standard operating procedure? Seems like bait and switch to me, no combination would even come close to previous page even at the cheapest selection..

Most recently I encountered a similar problem as flying Business Select for the first time. In reading the carefully worded info on benefits for paying extra, it does state be the first to board in the "A" group, not the entire collective. So I bit and payed extra to I could get off plane quickly to catch a food break and get to next gate somewhat relaxed. It worked on my way out however coming back aisle 10 was the first opportunity for aisle seat. Getting off the plane after a 2 hours delay was a mess, disabled folks seemingly dazed standing up getting into the aisle waiting for attendants to assist them. Not a happy ending to my trip. So I have learned a lesson. Yes there are some which need to be assisted, there are some whom abuse the system. There is always room for more training of the flight crew especially when it comes to customer concerns.

As a newbie to flying business select my rationale originally was seat position as I needed to change planes. Honestly didnt take into consideration pre boarders. Lesson learned, probably would have to weigh benefits to costs next time.

Honestly think a break down in communication happened. If travelers arrived down jetway by wheelchair, then they needed to be informed to wait for assistance before moving into aisle way. I only saw two chairs waiting to help folks, saw about 12 go down jetway in beginning. Granted Tucson is small change and it was late.

Yes, my last leg was into Tucson, large older population. I guess my thoughts were if these travelers needed assistance down the jetway, they would leave out same way. To not notify them to wait in place until assistance was there created the further delay. When I finally cleared the plane threshold, there were only a few chairs at opening . Felt like an obstacle course. Breakdown in communication I think.

OK..so I realize now Business Select does not mean "first to board" . My recent flights worked out ok even with all the "pre boarder's" in various state of disabilities, some questionable. So my concern is on last leg where plane was already 2+ hours late there must of been 12 preboarders all loaded in the front seats. Everyone wanted to get off this plane. It seemed some of these elderly folks actually were trying to stand up in the aisle and gather their things with no direction. I was back about 10 rows and watched as the flight attendants seem to be oblivious to the log jam, there were no announcements to them to wait I am assuming for wheel chairs.. One elderly women stood up and was told by daughter to go to front of plane and sit down in the front seats...she had no clue, almost fell down. I like others were not happy. Is this standard operating procedure? Not too safe in my opinion.
