I am a Southwest retiree, and I am now a volunteer at a school for homeless kids in San Diego. Monarch is a small school with only 100 or so kids but they do a great job with these kids. One graduate has a full scholarship to an east coast school. I gave the 5th grade teacher and his assistant the information on how to apply to the Adopt a Pilot program. Please please consider this school. I don't know if you have a minimum enrollment requirement but believe me this would be a great place to plant a seed in a mind that otherwise has little future to look forward to. Thank you and I hope to see that familiar sight of a SWA pilot walk into our school when the time comes. Remember, Monarch in San Diego.
Hey Judy,
What an amazing school that you are giving your time to! We look forward to receiving the Monarch's registration for the 2010 Adopt-A-Pilot program! Registration opens Sept. 1 at www.southwest.com/adoptapilot. As with every school that applies, we will do our very best to match it with a Southwest Pilot.
Thank you for sharing your LUV with deserving students. You are a true hero.
