I can only answer for a year ago, not during COVID times, but, YES. I was in Phoenix and visited the famous, Lo Lo's Fried chicken place. I had some leftover deep-fried catfish and some chicken leftover. I did get them through the TSA. It was a gratifying feeling that I was going to be able to not have to throw them away. But I also felt bad that when I ate it on the plane that everyone had to smell the mouthwatering aroma of the food.

Hi. The only consumable that TSA is concerned about is liquids. You are prohibited from bringing on containers that contain more than 3.4 ounces each.
People bring food thru security all the time. I regularly do - typically a foot long Subway sub
so I don't have to buy over priced airport food.
