So that means the plane is my oyster and I practically have my pick of seats.
Right?

A2 nice! Enjoy
You should be able to choose almost any seat you want the only way you Wouldn't get the seat you want is if there are a lot of pre boarders or if it's a thru flight with a bunch of people going on to the next destination.

Enjoy that Business Select are. Not only do you get the great boarding position, but you get extra points and a free drink!

Not all that surprising of a boarding position if the OP purchased a Business Select ticket. Is the position alone worth the extra cost for Business Select? No... so it's also worth checking at the desk for upgraded boarding which can be purchased for $40 and can also get you a A1-A15 position, the same numbers Business Select tickets are assigned.
