I have been flying a decent amount and my travel is going to start to pickup a good amount from STL to SFO. I’d really like to use my laptop to work while flying, but see that there are no power outlets. Is this something SW is considering, or will this not happen. I’m debating taking Delta or someone else that has power outlets going forward. Any ideas?

All newly delivered planes have USB power. That started a few months back with IMURA One (Hawaii One). I am not conversant about plans, if any, to update current aircraft.
Until then, Carry a power bank.

Most laptops cannot be charged with USB ports, at least that I know if.

I'd get something like this for a laptop, I have an older generation of it and it works great.
The USB-C can trickle charge a laptop, it might not run fully on the port but can run 1/2 power.
But this battery can run a 13" laptop.

My laptop (HP) will charge through a USB port. If you plug in a backup battery, it will see the power and feed its own battery.
Each laptop is designed differently.
