No - the standby option is only for earlier flights.
However, same day change will confirm you to a later flight.

You can't standby for a later flight because if it turned out you didn't get confirmed your other flight is already gone. So you can only be confirmed (by same day change) to move later so that you don't get stranded.
I guess technically you could standby for a later flight under the condition that you'd be cleared for the later one before the earlier one departed. But if you weren't cleared at that time you'd have to board the original flight.
