Added an authorized user. Do they get points like a new card?

I just added an authorized user to my existing Chase SWA credit card.  Does anyone know if that person gets bonus points?  Or does it need to be a totally new card?  An agent on the phone told me adding a user would quailfy for the points, but now I am not so sure . . . . thanks

No.  They are just a user of your Credit Card,  anything they charge on your card will add points to your account.  To earn bonous points you need to open up a new account.
