I know that purchasing a Southwest ticket with Chase points is handled as a paid booking (ie, you still earn tier qualifying miles for trips purchased that way) but does that also apply to the current companion pass offer? I booked a round trip for October today by calling the Chase Travel Center and transferring my points, but have no idea if that will meet the requirements for the companion pass offer.

Since you know from experience that you earn tier qualifying points on these types of purchases then there's no reason I can think of that these purchases would not qualify for the companion pass promotion. Only non-revenue flights would not count, and they also do not earn points so you don't need to worry about that. Hopefully you registered for the promotion first.

I did, yes! (Totally the sort of "duh" thing I usually forget...)
That was my guess as well, but I couldn't find confirmation anywhere, and of course I'll have to complete the travel in October to find out for certain.
Thank you!
