Question on companion pass qualification. Say I book a hotel from Southwest and pay $150 for it, the promotion gives me 5000 reward points, how many of these points count toward the Companion Pass Qualification?

Depends. If the booking says something like book this hotel and earn 5000 points then they would all count towards CP. If it's a booking that says earn 1000 points PLUS get 4000 points as a bonus for your first booking or something like that, then only the 1000 would count towards CP. Bonus points do not count towards CP.

While the official rules are that only base level partner points count for CP qualification, all points for hotel stays booked through the Southwest website (via Booking.com) have been counting. YMMV. 😉

When booking through Southwest Hotels ( Booking.com) all points will count towards companion pass.
