I have been trying to modify my daughter's return flight for this summer to a later flight that was not available before. Everytime I try to modify the return flight, I receive an error.

I am only trying to change her return flight.
Any advise?

If the flight you want to change was booked as part of a roundtrip reservation you'll want to call Southwest to make the change so you don't adjust the price of the flight you are not changing. Hard to know what the error message is, but the short answer is to give Southwest a call to complete the change.

Tried it through the app. This time getting an error stating the flight is no longer available at that fare.
Go back through the process, the flight and the fare are all the same.

There are occasionally differences between the search screen pricing and the checkout price. Usually there's a friendlier error message accompanying it. Like I previously suggested, you should call Southwest to make the change
