Hi!
I'm flying with my cat in two weeks, and have been searching EVERYWHERE for a carrier that fits the dimensions listed on the website.
I just talked to a representative who said that it is ok the carrier is slightly taller (11H instead of the listed 8,5H on the website) as long as it is soft sided and can bend to fit.
Is this really true? Can't stand the idea of being turned away at the airport for a few inches on my pet carrier.
Any recommendations or experiences?
I'm specifically looking to travel with the JetSitter Expandable Wings carrier (18L, 11H, 12W).
Thanks.

Yes, what you were told is accurate.
The requirement is that the carrier must fit under the seat in front of you. Soft sided carriers
allow you to compress the top of the carrier so that it will fit.
On the other hand, 11 inches high in a hard sided case would be problematic.

So I should be good on the soft one? I mean it's only half an inch taller than Southwests own carrier.
They won't give me a hard time when checking in?
Thank you so much!

You'll be fine. I don't think I've ever seen Southwest check dimensions of carry on bags (pet carriers). So you should be fine at check in.
Checked baggage is a different story. Checked bags are dimension checked.
