Last year, I had to cancel a flight and received travel funds for a later reservation. This year, I booked a new flight and paid for it, then realized my travel funds will expire before I can use them. This new flight takes place before the travel funds expire.
Is there a way I can change my current reservation so it uses my travel funds before they expire? If I can, will this year's reservation be converted in to travel funds?

The simple answer is yes, you can do what you are asking.
You can cancel the new reservation, converting the amount paid to into new travel funds, then repurchase the flight with the old funds. Your new travel funds would then expire one year from the date you originally booked the new, now canceled reservation. Do not use both old and new funds to make a purchase, that would make all the new funds expire when the old funds expire.
Hopefully that's all understandable.

I understand completely. Thank you for the tip!
